Hat-Trick

Hat-Trick is a three part visual case study on the game of football/soccer.

THE THREADS - explores fanaticism in the form of portraits by carrying the essence of a fashion house lookbook showing off the large collection of kits owned and modeled by Alek Read.

THE DREAMS - explores competition through photographs on match day of a pro-level team. Images captured between Washington Spirit 2024 and 2025 Home Openers.

THE ROOTS - explores amateurism and the grassroots of the sport through a short documentary film of moving photographs covering an initiative to grow the game and retain its presence in the community beyond the schoolyard and televisions.

Serving as EA's senior thesis, Hat-Trick was exhibited May 13-24, 2025 at the Center for Art, Design and Visual Culture.
